McLean Engineering Company is seeking a motivated rising junior or rising senior with an interest in the power engineering field to fill a summer engineering intern position. With the growth in population in the Southeast US, the advent of the Smart Grid, and the increased focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy, power engineering stands out as a growing, exciting field in an otherwise difficult economic climate. Job responsibilities will include the following:
- Design assistance on substation, transmission line, and power systems planning projects;
- Client visits, potentially including travel throughout the Southeast US;
- Grant research and application, and developing funding and implementation strategies for energy efficiency and potential renewable projects, including working in partnerships with Fortune 500 companies.
- Various support and administrative office duties.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Electrical Engineering Major or demonstrated interest in power engineering;
- Experience using CAD and Microsoft Office;
- An interest in living in South Georgia.
